Anorexia Nervosa

Characterised by refusal to eat, extreme fear of weight gain, and body dysmorphia. Physical signs include severe weight loss, hollow features, dry skin, and muscle weakness. Left untreated, it can be life-threatening. Treatment includes medical supervision, therapy, and medication.

Bulimia Nervosa

Cycles of binge eating followed by voluntary purging. People with bulimia may appear a normal weight. Physical signs include inflamed throat, sensitive teeth, acid reflux, and dehydration. Treatable with therapy, behavioural support, and medication.

Binge Eating Disorder

Uncontrolled overeating without purging, often linked to distress, guilt, or shame. Associated with obesity, heart problems, and organ complications. Treatable with therapy, dietary guidance, and medication.
