Acne Treatment
Acne can affect anyone at any age, though it is more prevalent in younger years. Types of acne include papules (small pink bumps), pustules (pus-filled), nodules (large, painful) and cysts (deep, painful).
Treatments range from topical creams and oral medication to laser and injection therapies. For severe cases, hormonal treatment may be recommended. Consult your doctor to determine the best option for your condition. Avoid touching or popping pimples to prevent scarring.
Nail Treatment
Healthy nails depend on adequate collagen and nutrients. Discolouration may indicate vitamin deficiency; brittle nails may result from chemical exposure. Splitting or soft nails (onychoschizia) may be caused by nail injuries, vitamin deficiency, eating disorders or harsh chemicals.
Remedies
- Ensure adequate Vitamins A, B-12, C and D, plus iron, protein and calcium
- Eat dairy, fruits and vegetables regularly
- Home remedies: olive oil, honey, salt, tea tree oil
- Clinic treatments: medicated polish, laser therapy, or nail removal for severe cases
Warts
Warts are skin growths that can appear anywhere on the body. They are viral (not cancerous) and spread easily through direct contact, especially to open wounds or when immunity is low. Some disappear on their own; others require treatment.
Treatment options
- Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen to freeze warts)
- Chemical treatments (acids)
- Laser therapy
- Medicated creams
Consult your doctor for persistent or rapidly spreading warts.
Hair & Scalp Care
Scalp types are normal, oily or dry. Proper care differs by type:
- Normal scalp: Shampoo 2x a week, light conditioner for ends, monthly oil treatment
- Oily scalp: Deep-cleansing shampoo, anti-dandruff formula if needed, no extra scalp oils
- Dry scalp: Shampoo once a week, moisturising shampoo with natural oils, monthly oil treatment, thicker conditioner
Using damaging hair products may lead to hair loss, balding and flaking.
Skin Nourishment
Healthy skin starts with a balanced diet, stress management, physical activity, adequate hydration, and avoiding tobacco. Supportive skincare ingredients include:
- Aloe vera – soothes rashes, burns and skin irritation
- Citric acid – maintains skin-friendly pH balance in products
- Sorbitol – helps keep skin moisturised
Keep skin clean by washing with medical soap and warm water. Remove makeup fully before bed. Exfoliate occasionally to remove dead skin cells. Consult your doctor for personalised product recommendations.
